appellee wife. The Circuit Court of Richmond (Virginia) recognized the wife's
prior Nevada divorce, on the ground of comity, entered a decree in favor of the
wife, and dismissed the husband's bill of complaint for divorce. The husband
appealed the decree.

Virginia Court made the following holding:
- Where the state of a
plaintiff's domicile is not also the matrimonial domicile, a decree of
divorce based upon substituted service and without personal jurisdiction
over a defendant, although enforceable in the jurisdiction where rendered,
is not entitled to obligatory enforcement in other states in virtue of the
full faith and credit clause of the Federal Constitution, although the
state courts are not prevented from recognizing such decrees on principles
of comity if they see fit, and will do so, as a rule, unless contrary to
public policy or to good morals.
